The HPM280 smart pressure transmitter combines pressure measurement, local indication and a standard remote output in one field-mounted instrument. It uses a diffused silicon piezoresistive sensing element with signal conditioning, automatic testing and laser trimming for temperature compensation.
An integrated LCD allows operators to read process pressure at the installation point, while the selected analog or HART-enabled output sends the measurement to a PLC, DCS, recorder or other control equipment. The aluminum-alloy electronics housing is rated IP65 and includes an M20 × 1.5 cable gland for protected field wiring.
The transmitter can be configured for gauge or absolute pressure. Available output options include 4–20 mA, 4–20 mA with HART, 0–5 V and 0–10 V. Pressure range, reference type, output, accuracy, process connection and wetted material must be specified for each order.

Depressurize the line before installing or removing the transmitter. Inspect the port, seal and threads, then mount the transmitter vertically where practical.
Keep the instrument away from strong vibration and direct heat. Where vibration cannot be avoided, use a suitable bracket, impulse line or remote connection approved for the pressure service.
Confirm the output version before wiring. A two-wire current loop and a three-wire voltage output do not use the same terminal arrangement.
Verify polarity, supply voltage and controller input, then close the enclosure and tighten the cable gland before applying pressure.
Check zero under the correct reference condition before commissioning. Apply known pressure points across the range and compare the local display, electrical output and reference instrument.
If adjustment is required, record the as-found and as-left results. Zero or span adjustment does not replace a complete calibration when traceability is required.
Inspect the installation for leakage, stable wiring and readable display orientation. Confirm the PLC or DCS scaling against the transmitter range.
Test alarms and interlocks through the control system where they form part of the application.

The 4–20 mA, 4–20 mA + HART, 0–5 V and 0–10 V versions should be treated as separate configurations. Do not assume that changing the wiring or display settings will change the output type. Confirm the required signal before ordering.
FS means full scale. For a transmitter with a 10 MPa range, ±0.5% FS corresponds to a basic error limit of ±0.05 MPa under the specified reference conditions. The optional ±0.25% FS version would correspond to ±0.025 MPa for the same range.
Accuracy describes how closely the measured value agrees with the reference value under specified conditions. Long-term stability indicates how much the transmitter output may drift over time. Both values should be considered when defining calibration intervals.
It can provide local pressure indication while transmitting a signal to a control system, but it requires a suitable power supply and electrical wiring. Confirm the process connection, pressure range and installation space before replacing an existing mechanical gauge.
A standard threaded pressure connection may retain viscous material or become blocked by crystallizing fluids and suspended particles. Such applications may require a flush diaphragm, diaphragm seal or another pressure transmitter structure designed for the medium.
